National Day of Service
September 11th is a day of remembrance, reflection, and community service. In the spirit of observing 9/11, PAAIA NexGen chapters from all across America decided to come together each year on this day to serve their communities.
The first annual National Day of Service began in 2011 and focused on the issue of hunger in America. To help fight hunger in America, NexGen chapters volunteered with local food banks, hosted food banks, and provided hundreds of meals to individuals and families who otherwise would have gone hungry in our communities. 57 NexGenners provided over 700 meals for families throughout America and served a total of 176 hours!
NexGen events such as the National Day of Service create a sense of community through service to others and NexGen is so proud to have been able to give back to our community through these fun and worthwhile volunteer projects. We hope that you will be a part of NexGen’s National Day of Service efforts for next year!
